HOW TO INSTALL A REV 535 FRS-COMPATIBLE TRIGGER

An FRS-Compatible model installs like any Slide-and-Snap trigger with one difference. On a standard install, the trigger slides under your safety selector. On an FRS-compatible model, the trigger has to go in first. On a built rifle, remove your grip and forced reset selector before you start. If you’re building the lower, install the trigger before the selector and grip.

INSTRUCTIONS

Prep Your Rifle and Trigger

  • Ensure the rifle is unloaded and clear.
  • Remove the rifle’s grip and safety selector if installed.
  • Leave the blade face on the trigger.

Seat the Trigger and Install the Forced Reset Selector (FRS)

  • Squeeze the trigger’s front and back pins and slide it into the lower receiver’s pocket.
  • Let it rest canted under the safety selector hole.
  • Disassemble the FRS.
  • Align the FRS cam lever above the trigger’s tail and install the safety barrel.
  • Flip the assembly around and reinstall the safety screw.

Fully Seat the Trigger

  • Turn the selector to safe.
  • Push down on the trigger until the built-in pins snap into place.

Reinstall the Grip and Function Check

  • Set the safety detent, then the detent spring, into the grip.
  • Start the grip screw into the grip, then attach the grip to the lower receiver and tighten.
  • Reattach the upper receiver and perform a safety function check, confirming the selector engages in all three positions.

If the Pins Don’t Seat

Regardless of the Slide-and-Snap trigger model, the built-in pins have to drop into the pin holes in your lower receiver. If any won’t seat, it’s almost always the receiver: holes slightly out of spec, a burr, or finish buildup in the hole.

Try these fixes, in this order:

  1. With the trigger in place, dry-fire the rifle a few times. That will usually drive the pins in the rest of the way.
  2. If they still won’t seat, remove the trigger and turn a 5/32″ drill bit in the pin holes by hand to clear them. (Use the bit by hand only, not in a drill.)

The video below explains how.

Removing Your Trigger

Slide-and-Snap triggers are just as fast to remove as they are to install, so you can easily move one to another rifle or pull it for cleaning. Check out how in the video below.
